At 6:00 PM we settled into our seats at People’s Natural Gas Field in Altoona, Pennsylvania to watch the Altoona Curve host the New Hampshire Fisher Cats in an Eastern League doubleheader.
In the minor leagues, doubleheader games are 7 innings instead of 9 innings. That was fine with us. We’d get 14 innings of baseball for the price of 9 innings.
Altoona swept the doubleheader, winning the first game 1-0 and winning the second game 8-1.
We had a fun night at the ballpark in Altoona. If I lived in the Altoona area, I’d attend the Curve’s games frequently.
When we left the ballpark at the end of the doubleheader, we drove directly to our motel to get some sleep.
