Dublin & Pleasanton

Today my brother and I had another Sunday morning bike ride on the East Bay’s trails.

At approximately 9 AM we rode our bikes from my house to the Castro Valley BART station, covering about 2.5 miles. Then we brought our bikes on BART and rode the train to the Dublin/Pleasanton BART station.

When we exited BART at the Dublin/Pleasanton station, we joined the Iron Horse Trail and rode north.

We veered off the Iron Horse Trail in Dublin and rode the Alamo Canal Trail south to Pleasanton, where we joined the Centennial Trail which parallels I-680. Next, we rode east on the Arroyo Mocho Trail to that trail’s junction with the Iron Horse Trail at Santa Rita Road. Then we rode the Iron Horse Trail north to return to the Dublin/Pleasanton BART station.

In the route map below the red line is the Iron Horse Trail, the green line is the Alamo Canal Trail, the blue line is the Centennial Trail, and the black line is the Arroyo Mocho Trail.

When we completed our trail ride in Dublin and Pleasanton we used BART to return to Castro Valley. Then we rode our bikes from the Castro Valley BART station to my house, where we arrived a few minutes past noon.

Our total bike mileage for the day was approximately 14 miles.
