Flying to Scottsdale

This morning I traveled from the Bay Area to the Valley of the Sun to spend a week in Phoenix area attending Arizona Fall League baseball games. The original plan was for me to meet buddy Joe and his wife in Arizona, but Joe was hit with a serious and mysterious illness and had to leave the Phoenix area to get medical attention in California. So I’m spending a week in the Phoenix area by myself. I wish that Joe could be here with me, but I rarely get any time to myself so a week alone in Phoenix will be good for my mental health.

My flight from Oakland to Phoenix was scheduled to depart at 6:00 AM and it departed on schedule. I arrived in Phoenix on time at 8:00 AM. By 9:00 AM I was rolling in my rental car and heading toward my hotel in suburban Scottsdale for a 7 night stay.

Fortunately, my hotel informed me that I could check in early at 10:30 AM. After a quick stop for breakfast and another stop to buy toiletries, I checked in at my hotel at 10:30 AM and settled in. Thirty minutes later, I was back in my car and rolling toward the suburb city of Surprise to attend a 12:35 PM ballgame.
