This morning I drove to the Kaiser Permanente facility in Richmond to receive my second dose of the Pfizer vaccine for COVID. When I got my first dose there, three weeks ago, there weren’t many people in line and everything moved quickly because you had to be an old guy like me to be eligible for the shot. Today, with most adults in California now eligible to be vaccinated, there was a much larger crowd to contend with. Kaiser was well prepared for this. The whole operation, from parking to intake to injection to exiting, was organized and efficient.
I’m happy to be fully vaccinated against COVID now, even if I should develop some side effects during the next 24 hours. As I write this, nine hours have elapsed since my injection and I’m not experiencing any side effects.
