One of the perks of retirement is the freedom to take brief road trips on weekdays with little or no advance planning. This morning I hopped in my car and drove east to visit California’s “Gold Country” in Tuolomne and Calaveras Counties. My first 2 stops were in Jamestown and Twain Harte.

As a young adult I made fairly frequent trips to the Gold Country, but before today I hadn’t been there in a long time. It was great to be back in Jamestown and Twain Harte today, even though I didn’t stay long. It was a nice trip down memory lane.
