Today I made a sunrise drive to San Francisco to visit Lands End at the Golden Gate Recreation Area. At Lands End I walked on the park’s trails for approximately 3 miles, snapped a few photographs, and checked out the Lands End Lookout visitor center.
I got an early start today and arrived at Lands End at 7:30 AM because I wanted to beat the weekend crowd and get a parking space, and that strategy worked well. The parking lot was almost empty when I arrived, and there weren’t many people walking on the trails at 7:30 AM. I was fortunate to have excellent weather at Lands End this morning with no fog, no wind, sunny skies, and temperatures in the mid 50s.
The Lands End Lookout visitor center doesn’t open until 9:00 AM so it was closed when I arrived at 7:30 AM, but that was fine with me. I spent 90 minutes walking on the trails and taking in the views. By the time I finished with my morning walk on the park’s trails, the visitor center had just opened. I took a quick look inside the visitor center, and then I headed for home.
