In a recent article I mentioned that my brother Mark and I bought ElliptiGo 11R bicycles. These are elliptical bikes with no seats and no pedals. It takes a while to get used to the ElliptiGo, but the effort is well worth it. The ElliptiGo gives you an excellent low-impact workout.
I spent more time on the ElliptiGo today and I’m slowly becoming more comfortable with it. I now have toe cages on the foot platforms, and I find that the toe cages make it much easier to stride properly. I’m striding better and turning more sharply now.
One thing that I need to work on is my confidence and comfort when only one hand is gripping the handlebar. Sometimes you need to free one hand from the handlebar to grab a drink of water, or wipe your nose, scratch an itch, etc. I’ve been able to ride one-handed but not for long, and I’m pretty shaky at it. I suppose the only way to get better is to keep trying it.
