When we finished our visit to the Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, Massachusetts, we drove south to Southington, Connecticut where we checked in to a motel and relaxed for a few hours.
This was the only evening that we’d spend in Connecticut during this vacation. We were happy to attend a ballgame in nearby New Britain on this evening because our motel in Southington was the worst motel I’ve ever stayed in. The longer we were at the ballpark, the less we’d be in our dumpy motel rooms.
Tonight’s ballgame was an Eastern League game, which is class AA baseball, with the New Britain Rock Cats hosting the Trenton Thunder.

It was an enjoyable ballgame and evening. New Britain defeated Trenton by a final score of 9-2. Box Score
There wasn’t anything particularly memorable about New Britain Stadium, but there was nothing terrible about it either. I’ve now been to Eastern League ballparks in Bowie, Binghamton, Erie, Harrisburg, New Britain, and Reading. Ranking those ballparks, I’d have Reading and Bowie at the top, Harrisburg and Erie in the middle, with New Britain and Binghamton at the bottom of my list.
