This morning we checked out of our hotel in Yutz, France and drove west. Our first planned stop on this morning was Verdun, the site of a huge World War I battle. However, rain was pouring down when we arrived at Verdun. The heavy rain made an outdoor visit to Verdun and its nearby forts difficult, so we passed on Verdun and drove on to Reims.

We spent the morning in Reims. Our first stop in Reims was the famous cathedral. Most of the Kings of France were crowned at the Reims Cathedral, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

After our visit to the Reims Cathedral, and our brief snack stop at a nearby boulangerie, we hopped back into our car and headed to our next stop which was only about 10 minutes away on the other side of town.
