My brother Mark and I spent the morning on our bicycles. At 7:15 AM we left my Castro Valley home in my car, with our bikes loaded on my car’s rack, and drove to the Windsor Square shopping center in San Leandro where we parked and unloaded our bikes. At 7:50 AM we were pedaling.
We rode on the San Francisco Bay Trail from San Leandro to Oakland and to Bay Farm Island, and then returned to our starting point in San Leandro. Today’s ride lasted a little less than 2 hours and it covered 19.8 miles. The slideshow below includes the route map and an 18 minute video consisting of selected portions of today’s ride.
We finished the ride before 10:00 AM and we were back home before 10:30 AM. We like to ride early and finish before the weekend crowds emerge on the trails.
