At 8:30 AM we checked out of our motel in Appleton, Wisconsin and began our long drive west to Minnesota. Our final destination of the day is Bloomington, Minnesota. Bloomington is a suburb of the Twin Cities, Minneapolis and St. Paul.

Most of today’s drive took place in Wisconsin as we drove west from Appleton to the Minnesota state line.

We checked in at our hotel in Bloomington at 2:00 PM and then we walked across the street to visit the infamous Mall of America.

The Mall of America in Bloomington, Minnesota is the largest enclosed shopping center in the country. The mall has a reputation for intense security with no nonsense permitted, so I didn’t bother to bring my camera with me to the mall. After about an hour in the mall, I’d had enough. To me, all malls are the same and they are places to be avoided. I headed back to our hotel to rest for the remainder of the day, while Mark and Shannon continued exploring the mall.
