After an early morning visit with my father at his assisted living center, I stopped at Lake Chabot to take a walk on the park trail. Lake Chabot is a large man-made lake that borders Castro Valley and San Leandro in the East Bay.

The trail at Lake Chabot is much better suited to walking than bicycling, though many bicyclists do ride there. It isn’t one of my favorite bike trails because there are numerous blind turns and a lot of pedestrians, and that’s an unsafe mix. But the trail is great for walking.
