I had plans to meet some friends on the pickleball court at Southgate Park in Hayward this morning. Unfortunately, when we arrived we discovered that the courts were closed this morning for maintenance. I was disappointed that we couldn’t play but I was glad to see the city of Hayward making an effort to keep the courts in good shape.
Since I didn’t get to play pickleball this morning and it was a beautiful and warm sunny day, I headed to Lake Chabot Regional Park in Castro Valley to take a long walk on the park’s trails. I stopped at several points during my hike to snap some photos.
I walked about 4.5 miles at a fairly quick pace. My route included several hills so it was a nice cardio workout. Most of the people that I encountered on the trails were wearing masks and practicing social distancing.
